Shit, If You Are the Center of the Universe I Want Out

Smiles. What's going on everyone?? Well nothing much new with me now. It's been the same old school, work, labs, tests, quizzes and stress of yesteryear. It all came to a breaking point Thursday though. I'm not really going into that here though cause it's been handled. Although I do want to say something about someone. Hannah, you are my bestest friend in the entire world. I love you to death and I could really never ask for a better friend. I can't believe all that we've been through and even though it's been kind of hard with us being so far away I'm so happy that we've been able to stay so close. I love you so much!! Okay, now that's not to say I don't love the rest of you out there, you know that! I went home this weekend, which was a most needed break from the routine that seems to be making me sick. Yeah, I'm not kidding. This past week and the weekend prior I have been feeling kind of yucky. I don't think there's a better way to explain it. I haven't really been running a temperature or shown signs of a specific sickness but I've just felt down and tired and feel like I don't have any energy to do anything anymore. So I'm thinking that maybe it's all been stress related. That being said this weekend was most definitely needed. I relaxed the entire weekend, not doing a shred of school related work.

Friday I pretty much relaxed at home. I got my haircut coming into York. I think that was the perfect way to start my weekend, getting my hair played with. I LOVE it. Saturday I went to Manchester and looked around, Books-a-Million, Michaels and Best Buy. Ooohh.. has anyone read The Da Vinci Code?? Well if you follow my blog religiously, like you all should do, then you know I'm an avid fan of Dan Brown. Well I wanted to get his book Angels and Demons on paper back but they were all out. So I'll be making a trip to the mall to pick it up on paperback. Then I went with Hannah to see Shark Tales at the $1.50 movie theater. Yay for Shark Tales. This week should be.. hectic. I've got a project that is going to be dropped on me in my hard class this week. But I think I've pretty much gotten a lot of the normal weekly work done already. Soooooo...... gotta keep it going. Just two more weeks until Spring Break!! YAY for Spring Break!! YAY!!! Okay, I'm out.

L'amour est Dans L'air

Howdy y'all. That came out a bit too southern for my taste. So how has everyone's week been?? Mine has been, well hectic. I took all 5 of my tests this week... YAY ME! I had Physiology, Intro to IS and Math on Tuesday. Wednesday I took my C++ test and Friday was my English test. How did they go you ask? Well I've only gotten back three of them. I made an A on my Intro to IS and Math tests. I made a B on my C++ test, which I'm happy about. My other two, Physc. and English I have yet to get back. My Physcology professor came in and asked us "So anyone notice anything about the quiz?" Well my first thought was "Yeah, it wasn't available until the 11th." This is what happened, he didn't release the quiz because he forgot BUT the date was Feb. 11th 2004. So he told us technically we should have all failed because we didn't e-mail him to tell him we tried to get on it. SOOOOOOOO.... none of us failed and he released it that day. Now we know that he is ALWAYS right and NEVER wrong and to think he could have ever done anything wrong is a sin punishable by failure. My 120 and C++ professor (the same man) is the same way. He's NEVER wrong, EVER. I think Zach said it perfectly..
[10:56] Ryan: I had originally put sea level rise - global... which would have TECHNICALLY worked but I didn't want to argue with him cause he doesn't like being wrong.
[10:57] Zach: No...you are wrong. He doesn't like to be wrong because he IS NEVER WRONG. He is God, simple as that.

My English test was a bitch. We had to tell who the speakers of several (30) quotes were. They were hard and not your typical quotes. Oh, and his questions (plot type questions) were vague references to things. For example one was: How many flocks did the shepherd who took Oedipus have? WHAT!? AHHHHHHHHHHHHh........ I put 2. LoL, I had no clue whatsoever. Then there were "ESSAY" questions. He requires a minimum of 5 sentences. Oh no, NOT 5 SENTENCES. I think I wrote two paragraphs for one and three for the other. The second question was on fate and I was like.. AP GET OUT OF MY HEAD!!! And now we have a book due on Monday, Notes From The Underground, which absolutely sucks. I think I might abandon it and give a look over the summarized guide he gave us for the book. Yeah, no joke.

So my week was hectic BUT my weekend has been really good, well for the most part. Friday I had class (test) and lab. Lab is usually not all that fun but I get through it. This time, however, was absolutely wonderful. We were in there and Matt and I kept making cracks at Dale and he kept shooting back. Then at the end (about the last 45 minutes or so) we talked about piracy and the Internet and how that has been the major deterrent for e-commerce over the past two decades. I love business and technology so I was having a blast and Dale and I were just going back and forth with topics. Well I get out and find that I had a missed call, it was John. I call him to find out that Susan and Anette had put a picture of him up in the Chipley elevator. When I hear about it I'm like, WHAT!? So I call Susan and she said yes and then I call Anette and she said yes too. So I'm like, URGH! I had to apologize to John for that. But I think it's all being pretty much so smoothed out. After all that I went to Blockbuster and got myself an account there. I'm so happy I have my OWN account there and NO ONE is going to get my card this time and get late fees attached to it. So anywayz, I get that and come back to my dorm, chill, grab some Chinese and then go rent Memento. I was looking for GATTACA but they didn't have it. So I watch Memento, which is a pretty good movie by the way. I slept in today and have done various cleaning things. I also cooked some dinner tonight. I had marinated some chicken a few days ago and had some queso rice with it tonight. It was YUMMMY!!! I love to cook. Okay, well that about wraps that up for me. I think I'm gonna go throw some clothes in the wash and watch a movie... SEE YA!! :-D

Monks With Too Much Time On Their Hands

Well it has been a while since I've done an honest update, or an honest day's work. The latter is not true of course. Well I'm sitting here in my dorm looking over the next book we're reading for English. The book is called Notes From The Underground and The Double by Fyodor Dostoyevsky. You probably recognize Dostoyevsky's name from Crime and Punishment. Well for some reason I really can't get into this book. From what our professor tells us it is an interesting book but I'm not really liking it all that much. So I'll go along with it for a while. My classes are... well going would be the only way to truly describe them. My psychology class is boring (we're only talking about neurons and neurotransmitters now). My math and CIS 120 class are about the same. My CIS 231 class is as hard as ever though. Although sometimes I wanna give up I just have to remember this will be the hardest jump from the previous classes to now. Next week I have 5 tests; three on Tuesday (in each class I have that day) and two on Wednesday (also in each class I have that day). That means that this weekend was devoted to doing some work. Well that is except for Friday night. Friday Suzi, Anette, Daniel, L, Darren and I went to Clinton to hang out and do some things. We went to Whitefords, good food, and then to a "bon fire" that some of Anette's friends were having. I put bon fire in quotes because I don't think I'd call it a bon fire. It was more of an attempt at a bon fire that ended in L, my suitemate from AFIRCA, actually getting the fire going. Man, it was crazy. Then we went around Clinton to find either a cemetery or an abandoned house to look at. There was apparently one on 72 SOMEWHERE but we couldn't find it in the dark. Then we went into one that was pretty neat. There were two living rooms and a kitchen we looked at. We didn't try going upstairs because it was falling down. Darren rode in the trunk the whole time. I'm not kidding. I would have NEVER rode back there. EVER! I had fun though. And it was a nice break from the stress filled life of college. Okay, I'm going to take a shower so I can be ready to go out to eat with Porter, Margo and Suzi tonight. See ya!! :-D

BLAH

Ever just feel like crap?? Between classes and then work for classes there seems to be no time for fun. I just wish that it could be easier. But oh well, when have I ever had a simple life? I feel like curling up and crying. *sigh*

The 3Fs

Ahhh... so it has been a while since I updated. Stupid schedule, stupid internet and stupid me. All of those factors have aided in inhibiting my updating tendencies. Sometimes I wish I had an eaiser schedule but oh well. So how has everyone else been doing? Let me think... Feburary 8th I have three classes (it's a Tuesday) and in each of those three classes I have my first exams. Not kidding. I don't think I've ever had a day where I had a FIRST exam in each class. So blah to that. Classes have been going okay. My hard class is still hard and sometimes I wanna give up but I think about getting it over with and being done with it and it's all better. My English class is still fun but frustrating. I think having AP has made me expect more out of an English class. We've spent FOREVER on Oepipus Rex. It justs urks me not to be able to just GO! So... hmm... blah.

Suzi and I are going home this weekend, I think. I think I'll get home at like 5:30, which sucks because I hate getting home late. But unfortuneatly I have CIS lab from 1:15 until 3:05. Crap, I forgot to put Suzi's schedule on her blog. I've gotten more into American Idol this year. Last year I didn't really get into it because I didn't watch it from the beginning. But this year has been fun, Simon's my favorite of course. He's always so blunt that it is funny. He and Paula fight all the time but it's good fighting. Blah.. okay, I think I'm finished for tonight. See ya!!

Howdy All

Well school has officially started and it sucks. I have one extremely hard class, CIS 231. I hate and loathe (that is possibly redundant but it gets my point across) programming. It sucks beyond all else. And the bad thing is that when I get out of college and get my job I won't be doing a lot, if any, programming. I want to work more with the business side of ITS. Urgh! If I didn't have to take it I wouldn't. Well I'm sitting at Anette's computer typing this. I'm still having some trouble with my computer. Since I've been down here I've fixed 5 people's computers but I have yet to fix my own. It annoys me when I have these problems. Well for those of you who don't know Lander instituted a new security log-in for the internet here since we had so many virus problems last semester. This new security log-in made us get rid of any virus protection program we had, install the latest security packs, download the log-in tool and download a virus protection program. So after all that you can log on to the network, how nice. News from home next.

I heard that there was a tornado that hit our hometown Thursday night. Not any major damage although it did make me anxious to hear news from home the next day. My grandfather, who had triple by-pass surgery, is doing a lot better and may be able to come home tomorrow, YAY! We have Monday off from school and I plan on enjoying it to the best of my abilities. That means that this weekend I'll be spending time working on my school work. Ahhh... my English class. I thought that I wasn't going to enjoy this class fully this semester. Well we're currently reading Sophocles' Theban plays. Those are Oedipus Rex, Oedipus at Colonus and Antigone. I re-read Oedipus Rex for this class although I had the major understanding from AP. We talked briefly on destiny and fate and that brought back some great memories from AP. :-) So I think I'll be enjoying this class.

Suzi, Anette and I now have a ritual on Thursday afternoons. We go swimming in the indoor pool and then come back here to either watch a movie or TV. It's gonna be great to be able to have a workout time every week now. Before we went swimming some but not as much as we can go now. We're also planning some things to do on the weekends. One weekend we're going to Greenville to spend the day there (although we could probably spend two or three days doing things there), one weekend we're going back to Clinton to look at some abandoned houses and go to the Rock House here in GWD and one weekend we're going to try to plan on doing a midnight bowling thing here. I haven't called down to our bowling alley to find out if they do a midnight bowling thing but when I went with Hannah at Strikers we had so much fun. Well I think that's about it for me now, I'm gonna go read Antigone. IM me sometime!! :-D

School Starts Monday, :-(

I kind of want to go back but then again I don't want to start classes. I feel that I have a lot of essays and writing coming up this semester and everyone who knows me knows that I loathe doing those types of assignments. Good news is that I have two computer science classes this semester, YaY! So I've got to pack tonight and then sometime tomorrow I've got to go pick up my last paycheck at BJ's. Urgh... I can't believe I forgot to do that today. I do however need that money for this upcoming semester. Let me think what's been going on this past week. Wednesday Suzi and I went up to GWD to pick up my books and go see where our classes are. I'm hoping that this semester will go by fast. I'm taking an English class this semester, world lit. The majority of the books I've already read from high school English classes. Anyway, while Suzi and I were in GWD we went back to our dorm rooms. We went in mine and the TV was on. Yeah, I was about to freak out that they had left the TV on after I left but John was there. Then we headed over to Suzi's room and found that no one had moved into her suitemate's room yet. We tried to re-arrange her room but we couldn't figure out another way to do it.

Yesterday I went over to Hannah's and chilled at her place and watched Blue Collar Comedy Tour Rides Again. This one was pretty funny but I think that they should mix both and it would be perfect. Then I took a nap yesterday afternoon so I could stay awake last night. Hannah, Eric and Kristen (married couple friend of Hannah's) and I went midnight bowling with them. I had forgotten how fun it was to do bowling. I'm gonna have to find out if the bowling alley in GWD has midnight bowling. I think it should and if it does then we are DEFINETLY going. Well any ways, we got 6 games in from 12:00 until they closed at 3:00. But I sucked at first and Hannah kept getting strikes, crazy girl. Eric and Kristen were pretty nice. Well then we went back to Hannah's and I stayed for a minute or two. Got home like a quarter til 4:00... :-) So I MOST DEFINETLY slept in today. I'm gonna miss hanging out with her while we're gone, :-(. I'm gonna have to come home more often to spend some time with her. :-) :-)

Okay, time for me to go and work on cleaning my room and packing a few things for tomorrow. I'm not sure when I'll update again so it may be a week or so. So see ya!! :-D

Long Time, No Update

Well it has been a while since I updated. I've been working, of course. Yesterday, Saturday, was my last day! YAY! I was so happy. I wanted this job for the money for this upcoming semester but it feels good to know that I will actually have a break here, even if it is only for a week. I realized today that a lot of people are starting classes on Monday. Drew starts on Monday. So that means that my break is going to be an actual break. There will be no one to bother me all day long. Sometime this week I'm going to GWD with Suzi to get my books and have lunch with Anette. I need to call her today to find out when she has to work this upcoming week. I can't wait to get back to GWD. Although I do like having no classes or tests or just the general stress of college I miss not being able to hang out with friends and do crazy stuff. So we start class on the 10th and I think I'm going to go back on the 9th. No need to go back too early. Nothing really interesting happening in my life right now. I did get a couple of good Christmas presents *see coal picture below*. I love my new cell phone. It's really awesome and I downloaded the Inspector Gadget theme song as my ring tone. I used to love that show when I was growing up. But I did want a flip phone. I also got Taboo the game. It's real fun. We played it on Christmas Day and I know that we are going to have fun playing this upcoming semester.

Well I believe that is it for me today. I'll probably update later in the week. IM me sometime! :-)

Hello All

Well I've gotten all my grades back *holds breath* 4 Bs and 1 A. YAY! That makes my GPA a 3.2173. So I'm all good. I was kind of hoping for an A in my Math 121 class... I got too bored. Susan, don't get too bored. You'll slack off like I did and just don't give a fuck. Okay, well I started my job on Tuesday. It's... well boring but at least the bad people are gone. I'm working cashier again and it's all pretty simple. So far I've worked 12 hours and I'm off today! WOOHOOO!!! I'm working 6 hours Friday and another 6 on Saturday. So I'm happy about that. I don't look forward to next Friday, Christmas Eve, though because that is our busiest day... :-(. But at least I'll get some money for next semester or an apartment. Hmm... trying to think if anything else has happened recently. Can't think of anything. Okay, well I'm off. See ya!

Great Value
The Brand Experts Trust

Joke, just a joke. Well I'm sitting here watching Monk and talking to Karina. We're talking about how she made Dean's List (WOOOHOOO) and how she's going to be working at Carowinds the summer. Which is great, I'm gonna have to stop by and see her. Well this week has been... stressful to say the least. I've been working/studying. See I only have two cumulative final exams I have to go to class to do. My first was Wednesday night. It wasn't too bad but for some reason I think I finished it too fast. Do you ever feel like that after a test? Before I started studying on that final I was working on my POLS 320 final. It was just a normal essay. It wasn't too bad but I did work on it for a while. Then my last exam is my CIS 320 exam. It's going to rape me in the ass (do not insert funny jokes here). It's going to be extremely hard. Have you ever noticed that when you start studying you feel like you have some basic grasp and when you finish you feel that you don't know what the fuck you're doing anymore? As it was said "Stupid studying. That is what you will do to you, make you stupid. Which kind of defeats the point." Urgh... just urgh.

Well Suzi and GV (Anette) are home for the weekend. Everyone was leaving today and it made me want to go home. I'm ready for this semester to be over with. I just wanna break. However, the day after I get home I'm working from 3 until we close at 10. Fun, just fun. But that is money for the next semester and hopefully for an apartment here in Greenwood over the summer. Wishful thinking but I hope I can get one. I went to this Christian shop here in GWD called Shepherd’s Shoppe. I bought two CDs. One was Clay Aiken's (don't start!) Christmas CD. I really wanted a Christmas CD with traditional Christmas songs. Then the other was a Worship CD. I love worship CDs. Well I'm about to go and watch Life as a House and lay down and read. See ya! :-)

Ling Ling No Get To Battle Real Monster

DRAWN TOGETHER RULES! Sorry, it's been a while but just to let you know. Well today has been a decently long day but I did get a lot done. I got up this morning and well it was actually more like noon. Okay, so I went to go get lunch in the cafe and came back here. I started my English paper and worked on it all afternoon. I finally got the hang of the APA style. I don't like it as much as the MLA style we used in high school but oh well. It's a bit different and a bit wacky how they site the reference on the reference page. I e-mailed my English professor to ask her about the ROI (return on investment) because I couldn't find any information about it and neither could many people in our class. Well I told her I had looked on several finance sites and even on my company's annual report and no such luck. So her response was "If you can't find it then it isn't the end of the world." WHAT!? WHAT!? I spent like a week looking for that stupid thing. Although in the process I had found a great deal of other information. But anywayz, I got my English paper done and I started on my POLS final essay. It's not going to be hard at all, just a simple 1200-1500 word essay. So I'll work on that more either Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday or Friday. LoL, I don't have many exams. I'm taking 5 classes. Two of those classes I have to take a written final exam in class. Those are CIS and Math 121. Then I'm not taking my Philo 101 class because I have an A in there already. My English final is my term paper I finished today. Then my last class is POLS 320 and the final there is a take home essay. So I'm gonna be pretty good for exams. I'm just worrying about my CIS final. It's cumulative and it's going to be painful, extremely painful. Well I think that's about it for me today. I'm gonna go take a shower and go watch a movie. NIGHT! :-)

Wheeeeeee!!!

I watch Drawn Together too much. That's a great show. You should watch it sometime. Well this has been a very enjoyable week. I got home Tuesday and relaxed all day. Then Wednesday I had lunch with Hannah, Ashley and Suzi. That was fun. I love getting together. Unfortunately I had to leave early to go to Pineville to get a drug test for BJ's. Well Fran, the HR manager wasn't there and couldn't give me the application. So I'm gonna have to do that when I come home for Winter Break. Then Thursday was Thanksgiving, always fun. We got together at my grandparent's house. It's all kinds of fun. I love getting together with them. Most of them I haven't seen in months, just because I don't come home that often. Well then on Friday I went shopping again... LoL. Christmas is a great time of the year. I love it and I don't love it just because of the presents. People say that mostly people like it because of the presents. Nah, I like it because it's a happy time. People are happy and the music is great this time of year. Then we get the tree and decorate it and have Christmas Eve together with the family and then on Christmas day we get together. It's just a great time of year.

Well as far as school goes I've got two more papers to write. Well actually about 1 and 2/3 because I wrote about a third of my English paper today. That's not going to be a hard paper at all. I turned in my Nuclear Politics paper on Monday. I hope I get a good grade on that one too. I think I know how he likes his papers now. Hmmm.... I've got ONE more lab to get finished and this one is ticking me off. It's a bit more difficult than I thought. I'll get it done though. Well I think that's about it for me today. I'm going to go and write some more and then it's back to Greenwood tomorrow. So I'll see everybody back there!! :-)
